The Finishing Funds Challenge

After a series of rough-cut edits, we are reaching the point at which our documentary can be shown to key individuals to provide constructive feedback. It’s a crucial step that will tell us if we are as close as we think we are. Meanwhile, we need to raise funds to complete the post-production process. To that end, executive producers Tom and Kay Sanger went to Halifax, Nova Scotia, in late June to test our film’s potential appeal to maritime museums. The occasion was a gathering at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic with several Athenia survivors featured in our film. We confirmed the MMA is eager to see Athenia’s Last Voyage, once our documentary is finished. Raising the funds to do so, however, will be a test of our ingenuity and salesmanship.
