Survivor Interviews

In three days of marathon filming sessions, we complete interviews with eight Athenia survivors, three descendants, and a historian during our stay in Halifax, Nova Scotia. All the sessions go well; some stories are very dramatic, some quite touching and a few manage to see some humor in their predicaments. The events of 80 years ago had a profound effect on the survivors’ parents. In some cases the parents refused to talk about what they experienced, leaving their children with vague memories and no understanding of what their parents went through.
